Les léotaux, grands lions pourvus de sabots et dotés d'une certaine intelligence, sont utilisés comme montures par les chevaliers de Bant, l'un des cinq Eclats d'Alara. Mais leurs cadavres fossilisés se rencontrent aussi dans les charniers de l'Eclat de Grixis, ce qui montre qu'autrefois les cinq Eclats formaient un plan unique.
